Sustainability is a central component of our strategy and responsibility - we contribute to the energy transition and environmental protection, adhere to social, ethical and moral standards, are committed to the economical use of resources and embed sustainability in all areas of the company.

We take our responsibility seriously and are committed to positively shaping the impact of our business activities on society and the environment. Through our CSR initiatives, we promote ethical behaviour, social justice and environmental sustainability.
Testo Industrial Services has implemented an integrated compliance and sustainability system that ensures that our company acts ethically, legally and sustainably.
This system comprises the following main components:

The MobilSiegel seal
The MobilSiegel seal of Freiburger Verkehrsbetriebs AG (VAG) was awarded for the first time in 2024 as an award for climate-friendly company mobility to Testo SE & Co. KGaA and to us as Testo Industrial Services GmbH.
The MobilSiegel seal recognises us as a company that distinguishes itself through climate-friendly measures for business and work travel. We were honoured with the highest award and received five "green leaves".
Connection to local public transport
One feature of our location in Kirchzarten is the proximity of our two sites to the railway station. This makes it easy for employees and business partners to travel to the company by public transport.
Electrified vehicle fleet
Our mobility strategy focuses on electromobility.
- Our fleet consists of a large number of fully electric vehicles that are emission-free in operation. This number is rising continuously.
- Fully electric vehicles and commuter bicycles are available to our employees for travelling between our locations in Kirchzarten.
- Our in-house collection and delivery service is organised using fully electric logistics vans, among others.
- Employees can charge their company cars and e-bikes free of charge at charging points/storage lockers. As the trend is rising sharply, we are continuously expanding our company-owned charging station network. Most of the charging current used for this is generated in Kirchzarten by our in-house photovoltaic systems.
- In this way, we are actively contributing to the reduction of CO2 emissions and focussing on clean and future-oriented mobility solutions.
Climate-relevant emissions
Testo Industrial Services recognises the importance of reducing greenhouse gas emissions. We have implemented a comprehensive emissions monitoring system and have set ourselves ambitious targets for reducing our emissions. We invest in renewable energies and efficient technologies to reduce our energy consumption and improve our carbon footprint.
A central component is the use of electricity from renewable energy sources. We purchase green electricity from a regional energy supplier and operate several of our own photovoltaic systems to cover our energy requirements and reduce our carbon footprint. We also use climate-neutral natural gas and use it to generate climate-neutral electricity in our own combined heat and power plant (CHP).
Conservation of resources
Another important step towards sustainability is the use of reusable transport boxes, also known as "chutes". These environmentally friendly transport solutions are firmly integrated into our fully automated high-bay warehouse and ensure an efficient and resource-saving material flow. These are also used to exchange our devices between locations. In this way, we make a significant contribution to reducing packaging waste and at the same time conserve valuable resources.
We also only use recycled paper made from 100% waste paper, which is produced without chemical additives and bears the Blue Angel and EU Ecolabel ecolabels. We have also introduced digital calibration certificates, which further reduce paper consumption and facilitate data utilisation in digital systems. Our water and pellet consumption is also regionally based, and we rely on technical facilities and efficient use to minimise this.
Testo Industrial Services focusses on Green-IT
Sustainability is also very important in the IT sector. We are guided by the GreenIT approach in that we emphasise energy efficiency and the equipment we use has been awarded the "Energy Star" seal. After the rental period, they are also refurbished and resold as "refurbished devices" or recycled accordingly by reutilisers. When selecting our suppliers, we attach particular importance to ensuring that they use resources responsibly and fulfil current sustainability standards.
Working together for more sustainability
The environmental and energy management team at TIS is a group of subject matter experts who focus on monitoring and optimising both energy consumption and environmental impact and implementing sustainable practices. They support the Environmental and Energy Management Officer in maintaining and continuously improving the environmental and energy management system.
As part of their training at TIS, trainees and students have the opportunity to join the sustainability team. Together, they can familiarise themselves with current sustainability issues and implement their own projects and improvements internally.
Sustainability is a collaborative process in which all employees are involved. Our improvement management system on the intranet gives everyone the opportunity to contribute suggestions and ideas for environmentally friendly measures. In this way, we create an open dialogue and continuously implement ideas that help us to become even more sustainable.
